Bringing to life our vision of “Philanthropy Through Fashion”, TREUN partnered with UK-based charity Give Your Best (GYB) for The Good Fashion Show, an event celebrating refugees, sustainable brands and the power of fashion for good.
The event took place during Sustainability Fashion Week at Fashion District - LAB E20, a hub for fashion innovation & creative space in East London, U.K.
We were delighted to preview our new, customizable, luxury shoe collection for the first time, dressing all the show models – refugee women from the GYB community – with three different styles of bespoke shoes, as chosen by them.
Each pair of shoes was personalized especially for the models by TREUN’s resident artist and acclaimed painter, Kiril Jeliazkov adding his creative flair to the all-white designs.
Attendees of the Fashion Show were not only the first to discover the special shoe creations, they were also treated to a unique Live Art Performance - a catwalk collaboration & interaction between Kiril and the Refugee Models.
Co-creating a unique piece of art, a 16m runway taking the shape of a giant painted canvas, the refugee women bravely dipped their shoes in paint and stepped forward, leaving their mark as a symbol of stepping into a new life.
The unique runway is to be divided into 10 individual pieces of art representing each one of the 10 fashion show models and auctioned for Give Your Best.
The special artwork was also exhibited at ‘Traces: Stories of Migration’ in London in December 2022, an event by Making For Change and renowned textile artist, Lucy Orta, to emphasize migrant journeys through sustainable and socially inclusive textile practices.
